These are some of the meanings I've looked up on these terms:
1. Cross-disciplinary - A study involving two or more academic disciplines
2. Inter-disciplinary - A study that incorporates concepts from multiple disciplines to form a more coherent research
3. Trans-disciplinary - A study that has the strategy to cross many disciplinary boundaries to create a newer, more holistic approach
4. Qualitative research - A method of inquiry to investigate the social sciences to further undestand the human behaviour and why and how behind them.
5. Ethnographic research - A type of qualitative research aimed to studey the cultural influence on human behaviour.
